We've been a part of the SRM family for a couple years now, and I can't say enough about the school. It's one of the few schools that use true Montessori Teaching methods for all lessons. The open ended learning has helped my daughter grow so much!!

We have been using Stone Ridge Montessori since 2010 and absolutely LOVE this school. Our toddler has the same first teacher that both of her big brothers had, 7 & 9 years ago. SRM employs and keeps wonderful, caring teachers and provides a top notch nurturing and highly educational program. We couldn't be happier with our children's home away from home.

My daughter has been going to Stone Ridge she was 10 months old and is now about to turn 3. She loves going to school and LOVES her teachers. Ms. Mervat, Ms. Gulsoma, Ms. Triza and all the other teachers/administrators are AMAZING! It’s wonderful to see her run and hug the teachers each morning. It’s a great sense of relief knowing that she’s well taken cared off and is learning so much on a daily basis.

Our Commitment to Success

Today, the significance of early childhood education, sometimes referred to as “Pre-K Education’ has garnered increasing public attention. The Stone Ridge Montessori School has been ahead of this issue, for literally decades. Since its founding, the Stone Ridge Montessori School has recognized the significance of the first six years of a child’s life; understanding that these formative years set the foundation upon which a child’s life will be built.

Year after year, decade after decade, Stone Ridge Montessori strives to meet the vast potential of it’s students, with an incredibly unique and diverse staff and faculty sincerely committed to seeing it realized in the Montessori system. The results have been unequaled success and achievement for students, and equally unparalleled satisfaction and sincere pride from the entire schools’ faculty and staff.

About the Montessori School System

The Montessori educational system was created more than 100 years ago by an Italian physician and educator, Maria Montessori. The Montessori system stresses independence, freedom within limits, and an inherent respect for a child’s natural, physical and social development.

Specific characteristics of the Montessori system include:
  • Mixed age classrooms
  • Students choose from an arrange of instructional options
  • Uninterrupted blocks of work time
  • Students learn through hands-on work with materials
  • Specialized Montessori educational materials
  • Freedom of movement within the classroom
  • A trained Montessori teacher

In addition, many Montessori schools design their programs with reference to Montessori’s model of human development from her published works.
